In this first episode of my “Google Docs for Kids” series, I’m kicking things off with the most important question: what is Google Docs? This video is a quick, kid-friendly introduction to the tool so students (and teachers) can start with a clear picture before we jump into typing, formatting, and all the fun features later in the series. I keep it simple on purpose—Google Docs is a digital document you can create and edit on a computer or device, and it’s designed to be easy to use in a classroom setting. The big takeaway is that Docs helps you do the same kinds of things you’d do on paper (like writing and revising), but with helpful tools built in and the ability to work in a modern, tech-friendly way. If you’re new to classroom technology, this is the starting point I recommend so everything else we do in Google Docs makes sense.
