Learn how to create a branching activity with Google Forms.

About This Video

In this video, I show you how to build a branching activity using Google Forms. Branching is when a student’s next question (or section) changes based on the answer they choose—so the form can feel more like a “choose your path” lesson, a self-checking practice activity, or a quick decision-based review. I walk through how to set up your questions so students don’t all get the exact same experience, and how to keep the flow clear so nobody gets stuck or sent to the wrong place. My main focus is making branching simple and classroom-ready. I explain how I think about planning the path first (what choices you want students to make and where each choice should lead), then building it inside Google Forms in a clean, organized way. If you’re using Forms for blended learning, skill checks, or differentiated practice, branching is one of my favorite ways to keep students moving independently while you still control the structure of the activity.
