In this video, I show you how I use a digital slideshow lesson to run blended learning in a way that feels simple and predictable for students. The big idea is that your slideshow becomes the “home base” for the day: students move through the lesson at their own pace, and everything they need—directions, examples, practice, and links—lives in one clear place. When the slideshow is set up well, students aren’t constantly asking, “What do I do next?” and you’re free to teach, check in, and pull small groups. I walk through how I structure slides so they work in a blended classroom: clear step-by-step instructions, built-in checkpoints, and spots where students switch between direct instruction, independent practice, and teacher support. This approach works especially well when you want students to review a skill, catch up, or extend their learning without the whole class being on the exact same step.
