The Roland P-6 became a key part of my workflow because it’s basically a portable sampler with a surprisingly deep, Elektron-ish sequencer. I bought it for the sample-rate grit, low-fi button, and mic, but the per-step parameter locks and sequencing are what made it stick.

- +Incredibly intuitive sequencer with lots of per-step parameter locks

Cons
- -Only one effect at a time (vs SP-404 multi-FX)
- -No true manual slicing mode; quick chop can’t be adjusted
- -Bus and send effects run in parallel, which can sound bad with filters/scatter
