SPS Evening of Excellence – Retirement & Awards Ceremony | June 4, 2026

On June 4, 2026, Spokane Public Schools gathered at NEWTech for our annual Evening of Excellence to celebrate the incredible people who make this district so special. The night featured remarks from Superintendent Dr. Adam Swinyard and School Board Vice President Hilary Kozel, a presentation of colors from the Rogers High School JROTC, and the presentation of this year's Principal of the Year award to Beth Nye, who was recognized for her outstanding leadership including guiding her school through a mid-year move to a brand new building. The heart of the evening was our retirement celebration, honoring staff from across every corner of the district who have devoted years of their lives to Spokane's students and families. From classrooms to central office, these are the people whose hard work, heart, and dedication have shaped our community for the better. We are so grateful for everything they have given, and we wish them all the very best in this exciting next chapter.
