Taken from How To Make 90s Rave with P-LASK - watch the full course here: https://www.sonicacademy.com/courses/how-to-make-90s-rave This week, we're going back in time as Ableton certified trainer P-LASK creates a classic 90s Rave track from the ground up. In this three-and-a-half-hour epic course, Paul utilises some of the methods originally used back in the day, including resampling and re-pitching sounds, as well as reducing bit rates, to achieve that classic, unmistakable rave sound. This sound was the predecessor and backbone of many genres in later years. We introduce some classic breaks before working on all our sounds, including stabs, FM bass, pitched vocal shots, hoover leads, M1 pianos, and more. We then write in a selection of parts for each element, adding variations before laying out some scenes ready for the arrangement. Once the arrangement is finalised we then carry out some simple automation to help with transitions before mixing the track down and mastering so it's ready to play out. Packed full of pro tips and tricks to get that old skool feel, this is one you're not going to want to miss!
