I also explain the part most people gloss over: Apple can shrink the pill without killing Face ID by moving the flood illuminator under the display, while keeping the dot projector, IR camera, and selfie cam in the cutout. The best part is the Dynamic Island doesn’t get “less useful” — you actually gain more usable pixels around it for Live Activities.
