How to PUMP a ramp on roller skates! * pumping tutorial for park roller skaters *

Learn how to pump a ramp on roller skates & enjoy this step-by-step pumping tutorial for beginner park roller skaters! Plus some basic tips for pumping on rollerskates and getting over mental blocks with learning to pump a ramp. Rollerskating terms mentioned in this video: ★ frontside = a trick executed with the skater's front facing the ramp or obstacle ★ fakie = skating backwards (both basically depend on the direction you face the transition as you approach) ★ pump = using your momentum and the transition to generate speed ★ transition = the curved vertical surface of the ramp ★ the flat = the even surface between transitions ★ the coping = round metal bar where the deck and top of the transition meet ★ half pipe = essentially two-quarter pipes facing each other with flat connecting them. ★ mini ramp = two transitions facing each other connected by a flat, usually 5ft or smaller and not enough transition to go vert ★ stance = how you position your body when you skate! *in this video I skate in the "prone" stance, which is a forward facing stance (as opposed to sidestance [heel to heel], for example) ★ goofy = right skate forward/dominant ★ regular/natural = left skate in front/dominant ★ drop in = how you enter a ramp from the deck ★ stall = to land on the coping or ledge with one or two skates locking on; should be able to hold for 2-3 seconds ★ fakie stall = skate up the transition fakie and land in a plate stall ★ Subscribe so you don’t miss future videos from this channel! https://bit.ly/SimonSlaysYouTube 🔔 (Tap the Bell icon to get notified) ★ Was this video helpful?
