MYTH: December is a terrible time to land clients because everyone's in 'holiday mode' and taking time off work. TRUTH: For many business owners, December is a frantic dash to the finish line... A mad rush to finish projects, hit end-of-year sales targets, capitalise on all the holiday sales and make hires for the new year. For a lot of industries (e.g. ecom and coaching), there's a big boom in sales and demand for their services at this time of year. So it would be mighty unwise of you to 'prematurely evacuate' and take your foot off the gas pedal now. To put it in caveman terms... MORE SALES = MORE COPYWRITERS NEEDED. So in my opinion, December can be one of the best months for signing new copywriting clients... IF you do it right. Cold emailing and pitching people on retainers doesn't typically work as well during this time of year as those types of hires don't usually happen until the new year...
