I bought the Hori Split Pad Pro because I wanted a more comfortable, more accurate handheld experience than regular Joy-Cons. You get bigger grips, a real D-pad, responsive buttons, and sticks that feel like they have more travel for better aiming and movement. Just know you’re trading off things like wireless play, rumble, and amiibo support to keep that $49.99 price.
Pros
+Much more comfortable handheld grip than standard Joy-Cons
+Real D-pad for better portable single-player gameplay
+Tactile, responsive buttons that aren’t mushy
+Rear FR/FL buttons can be assigned to front buttons on the same side
+Turbo function available on each grip
+No Joy-Con drift
Cons
-No wireless support (can’t detach and use as a standalone controller)
-No HD rumble
-No amiibo support
-Not practical for tabletop mode with the kickstand
-No full system-style button remapping (like swapping X/B positions)
