DOJ, Ohio unveil joint push against Medicaid, romance, and COVID-19 fraud
The U.S. Department of Justice and Ohio announced a new data-sharing deal and charges in $42 million in alleged health fraud schemes. Cases include a $30M behavioral health billing scam, a $12M Medicaid fraud, and a $15M AI-driven romance scam targeting 130 victims. Authorities seized millions in cash, cars, and other assets, and unveiled the FBI’s “Most Wanted Fraudsters” list to aid in tracking fugitives.
