JE’VIDA | The 6th Annual Sámi Film Festival

The 6th Annual Sámi Film Festival returns to Scandinavia House this February! On February 9, 2024 at 7 PM, see director Katja Gauriloff’s critically acclaimed feature film JE'VIDA. An aunt and her niece who have never met drive to Lapland to empty a house they’ve inherited. It soon becomes clear that the withdrawn, distrusting aunt was a victim of assimilation policies, and the niece must make a big decision. By taking an interest in each other, they find value in themselves and their roots. This year’s Festival program will include in-person screenings and virtual screenings from February 8 through 11.
