Venice Beach Skatepark is literally getting buried, and in this video I’m talking about what’s happening right now with the sand taking over the park. The whole point is to show people what Venice looks like in the moment—how the sand changes the lines, kills the flow, and makes skating it way more sketchy than it should be. If you’ve ever watched clips from Venice and thought it’s always perfect, nah—this is the reality when the beach starts creeping in and nobody’s handling it. I made this to teach people about the park and put eyes on the situation, because Venice is one of those iconic spots that matters to skateboarding culture. I’m also using it as a push to keep the community tight: share the info, show up for your locals, and don’t let spots get ignored until they’re unskateable. Hopefully it all gets better soon, but either way I want more people paying attention and getting inspired to skate, support the scene, and keep these parks alive.
