About This Video

In this video I’m walking through DumbDo, which is basically a super simple self-hosted to-do list that lets you create lists, add items, and then just mark stuff as done. The UI is intentionally minimal (it’s part of their “dumb suite” vibe) and honestly I love it—no bloated features, just a clean place to track what you need to knock out. I show how you can make multiple lists (like groceries), add tasks/items, delete stuff you don’t need anymore, and check things off as you complete them. Then I jump into setup, and it’s about as straightforward as it gets: you grab the quick start command from the DumbDo repo and run the Docker container. I also mention how I like saving that run command into a script so it’s easy to re-run later if I need to restart the service. By default it’s on port 3000, and I show that you can hit it directly with :3000, or—if you’ve already got Nginx and certs set up like I do—serve it over HTTPS with TLS on your homelab domain. End result: a dead-simple self-hosted to-do list that actually helps you get things done.
