The A7S III is still my all-time favorite mirrorless camera, and yes—it still holds its own in 2025. That 12MP full-frame video-first sensor is why it’s so good in low light, and it just nails the fundamentals for creators who care about motion first.

+Has an EVF, which I prefer when shooting photos/outdoors

Cons

-Only 12MP, so it’s not ideal as a photo-first camera
-It’s aging, and everyone is waiting on the next A7S/FX3 generation
