The Portkeys PT6 is an affordable, extremely lightweight 5.2-inch touchscreen monitor that’s packed with the tools I actually use—peaking, false color, waveforms, and LUTs. The killer feature for me is being able to toggle LUT output over HDMI out during playback, which saves a ton of time when clients are reviewing footage and wondering why Log looks flat.
Pros
+Extremely lightweight and compact
+Responsive touchscreen compared to older Portkeys monitors
+HDMI in up to 4K60
+Can toggle LUT output over HDMI out (great for client playback)
+Dual battery plate supports Canon LP-E6 and Sony NP-F
Cons
-Only 600 nits—harsh daylight can still be tough
-No fan; can get hot with extended use, especially outdoors
-Flimsy sunshade that’s hard to put on and doesn’t cover much
-HDMI in and HDMI out are on opposite sides, messy cable management
-Only one mounting option can be limiting for rigging
