I use this SmallRig V-mount plate mainly to control the weight and keep the rig balanced, not to power the C70. For me it’s mostly there to feed my monitor because the monitor is extremely power hungry.
Pros
- +Makes it easy to add rear weight and improve balance
- +Good way to power accessories like monitors
Cons
- -I personally avoid using it to power the camera directly (DC-in) for now
