In this video, I show how Indie Kit (the Next.js SaaS boilerplate) can get you from “blank repo” to a working, production-style app in minutes. Once you clone the repo, you run the bootstrap command and Claude starts asking structured questions that are actually relevant to your specific product. I demoed it by spinning up a “Logo AI” app: one-sentence description, theme (I picked a Twitter-style theme), whether you want a credit system, and whether AI jobs should run in the background or real time. From there, it generates the core entities, database schema, and even runs migrations—so you’re not stuck doing plumbing for hours. Then I take it a step further: I pick Replicate for AI generation, find the exact model I want, and have Claude refactor the generated code to use that model and add a style dropdown that appends to the prompt. After setting env vars and running the dev server, we land on a ready-made landing page, auth is already built in (dev login link shows in terminal), and the dashboard includes credits out of the box. I generate logos, check background runs, and the whole thing actually works. My big takeaway: Indie Kit isn’t just templates—it’s a well-architected codebase with AI “rules/skills” that help you ship a real SaaS fast, and you still fully own the code to keep improving it.
