Starting Over in NYC | Medium Format Photography on the Pentax 645z

Sometimes starting over doesn’t mean moving, it means showing up where it matters most. I haven’t made the move, but I’ve decided to focus most of my work in a new place: NYC. For me, it means creating, chasing your passions, and making the most of every opportunity. This video follows my journey of traveling to NYC to focus on photography, redirect my work, meet new people, spend time with friends, and embrace the city’s energy. It’s about taking chances, exploring new paths, and finding growth along the way. Along the way, I shot 5 different sessions with the Pentax 645z medium format camera, reflecting on how photography connects me to people, places, and myself. It’s a mix of my process, and the personal side of showing up as a photographer in a new city.
