In this episode of the View from the Top Series, I play on some of my favorite old K Zildjian cymbals very delicately so you can really hear the magnificent tone these cymbals create. The kit I am using is a Gretsch Catalina Elite set from the early 1990s. The sizes are: 16" BD, 12" and 14" toms and a Slingerland Gene Krupa 1960's Sound King COB 5"x14" snare. The cymbals are all old K Zildjian from the 1940's through 1960's except for a 24" Masterwork Thalles series China/Swish. 18" K Ride with rivets 18" K Crash 16"K Crash 15" K Hi-Hats 21" K Ride I am using 2 Sennheiser MKH 80 microphones for overheads and an AKG D112 on the Bass Drum.
