In this episode of the View from the Top Series, I show you a performance of a Latin Big Band Chart with a view from above. This chart, Alianza by Eric Morales is written in a Latin-Jazz Style and transitions between a mambo/songo groove and a straight-ahead jazz feel. This chart is from the Sittin' in with the Big Band Series of books . The kit I am using is a Gretsch Catalina Elite set from the early 1990s. The sizes are: 16" BD, 12" and 14" toms and a Ludwig 5"x14" Black Beauty snare. The cymbals are: Paiste 22" Traditional Light Ride Paiste Traditional 16" and 17" crashes 1950s K Zildjian 18" Crash/Ride Sabian 13" HH regular hI hats Masterwork Thalles Series 24" China/Swish.
