Here is what I consider to be my older Jazz recording rig with the addition of some flat rides, which are slightly more modern. This is set up for a recording session. The drums are tuned low and loose, and calf heads are on the toms and bass drum. I usually put calf on the snare as well, but I am playing some heavy 2 & 4 on this session so I don't want to risk breaking a head. The drums used in this video are 1982 Gretsch Centennials. 18" x14" Bass, 10"x 8" tom 14" ×14" floor tom. The snare is a 1950s 14" x 6.5" WFL Ray McKinley Drum. The cymbals are: 20" Paiste Traditional Flat Ride 18" Paiste Traditional Flat Ride 21" Istanbul Agop Jazz Ride 16" Paiste Traditional Thin Crash 1950s 15' K Zildjian Hihats
