Here is a View from the Top video showcasing one of my favorite low-priced snare drums, the Slingerland 5" x 14" COB Gene Krupa Sound King. These can be purchased used for under $300. They are easy to repair and have a very nice soft brass shell and are great for playing all types of Jazz. This drum works well in any situation and has a beautiful, brassy sound. In this video I play several different styles with minimal miking to give you a good Idea of what the drum sounds like in person. If you search Sound King on this channel you will find another video related to this topic. The drum set I am using is a 1990s Peavey Radial 1000 set with a 22" Bass Drum. You can see more of this kit here: https://youtu.be/-wfcbmk2Rjg 10", 12", 14", and 16" toms Cymbals are Sabian 21" Ralph Peterson Ride Sabian 14" Vault Hi Hats Paiste 16" and 17" crashes Wuhan 20" china Microphones are 2 Sennheiser MKH 800 overheads and an AKG D112 outside the Bass Drum.
