In this View from the Top series video, I compare four well-known 5" x 14" Brass and COB (chrome over brass) snare drums. All of the drums have Remo Coated Ambassadors on the top and Remo Ambassador Snare Heads on the bottom. I play some of the drums muffled and unmuffled, which is the way I normally use them. The drums featued are: a 1970s COB Slingerland Gene Krupa Sound King, a 1970s COB Rogers Dynasonic, a 1960s COB Gretsch 4160, and, for comparison's sake, a more modern1990s Ludwig Black Beauty (nickel over brass). 0:00 Slingerland 1970s Sound King 2:43 Rogers1970s Dynasonic 4:08 Gretsch 1960s model 4160 5:42 Ludwig 1990s Black Beauty The drum set I am using is a 1990s Peavey Radial kit. 22" Bass Drum.
