Future Architects Discuss: Drawing Attention with Hamza Shaikh

RIBA Future Architects Discuss events provide a forum for open discussion on key topics for the architecture student community. In this video, Hamza Shaikh, architect, and author discusses his newly released book by RIBA Publishing - Drawing Attention: Architecture in the Age of Social Media. Hamza shares how his book gives readers a peek behind the illustrative curtain, exploring the processes and techniques that have helped to create some of the most outstanding drawings online. This is a recording of a live event held at the RIBA Library, 66 Portland Place, London on 23 March 2023, hosted by Maryam Al-Irhayim, RIBA Vice President for Students and Associates. Hamza Shaikh is an architectural designer at Gensler, and host/producer of the Two Worlds Design podcast. Having been active in the niche of architectural illustration on Instagram, he has gained a large following over the past five years. In 2019, he produced and hosted the first-ever Architecture Creatives Q&A session live on Instagram with many emerging influencers and illustrators where they collectively answered many audience questions relating to architecture drawing and Instagram brand creation.
