I Don’t Know What a Retro Handheld is Anymore.

👉One of my first retro handhelds was a PocketGo S30. My first video was a $12 famiclone. Now I'm reviewing devices with Snapdragon 8 Elites, 16GB of RAM, and a half-terabyte of storage... and we still call it a "retro handheld." Somewhere between the PocketGo and the AYN Odin 3, this hobby changed. The devices got more powerful, more expensive, and more capable. They stream Game Pass, run Android apps, and play PS2 at 4x resolution. They're incredible. But are they still retro? And does it matter? In this video I'm talking about the identity crisis in the retro handhelds community. The gap between a $50 Miyoo Mini Plus and a $300+ Odin 3 isn't just a price gap, it's a philosophy gap. One side of the hobby is about simplicity, preservation, and the love of old games. The other side is about pushing hardware to its limits and blurring the line between retro handheld and portable gaming PC. I think the hobby needs both.
