You might remember my short-scale cigar box guitar from my last video. As someone who prefers fretless slide guitars, I've never bothered with fretting before, and that means I don't have any traditional fret wire. But necessity is the mother of invention! I decided to use what I had readily available: a stash of reclaimed copper wire, usually reserved for jewelry-making and electronics projects. Join me as I DIY my way through creating first-position frets (the first five!) for my unique instrument. The real experiment happens when I discover a way to make these copper frets movable and removable! See how I shape and attach these DIY frets to the fretboard using nylon string and hear the results! - Dr. Liza Seigido #CigarBoxGuitar #DIYGuitar #CopperFrets #MovableFrets #RemovableFrets #GuitarBuilding #HomemadeGuitar
