In this video, I’m back in my slightly chaotic AI explorer mode, testing Replit (replit.com) for what it promises: build a full web app from a single prompt and get it deployed with both frontend + backend. I walk through the main areas inside Replit—Create App, Import Code & Design, Build modes (including the free “Agent” light mode), and how you can pick frameworks like Python, Node.js, HTML/CSS, and more. I also point out features like collaboration and the newer animation-generation option where you describe an animation and it spits one out. To prove it’s not just marketing, I prompt Replit to build a YouTube Analyzer webapp. The input is a YouTube channel/video URL, and the output is subscriber count + average views, plus a basic check to spot weird patterns (like subscribers being way higher than views). Since it fetches live data, I show the exact setup you need: get a YouTube Data API v3 key from Google Cloud Console, add it securely using Replit Secrets (Cmd+K on Mac / Ctrl+K on Windows), then restart the app. Finally, I test validations (valid URL + valid YouTube URL) and run real channel checks to confirm the app works end-to-end in just a few minutes.
