Everyone is here for this. Speaker 1: It’s a full house. We’re at the Showcase Cinemas. The energy is crazy. Speaker 2: (Waves to the camera) Ready for the King of Pop! Speaker 1: We just grabbed some Twizzlers and a massive popcorn. You can’t see a three-hour movie without the essentials. [01:18 - 01:45] Speaker 1: (Whispering) Okay, we are in our seats. These recliners are everything. Speaker 2: Look at the screen, it’s huge. Speaker 1: We’re just waiting for the trailers to start. I’m honestly a little nervous. I want it to be good, you know? Jackson’s legacy is so huge, I hope they do it justice. Speaker 2: I think Jaafar is going to nail it. He looks just like him in the posters. [01:46 - 02:11] Speaker 1: (Quietly) We are about an hour in. I am speechless. The dance sequences? Phenomenal. Speaker 2: The "Thriller" set piece was unbelievable. It felt like we were there. Speaker 1: And the kid playing young Michael? He has the voice down perfectly. I'm actually getting emotional. [02:12 - 02:30] Speaker 2: Wow. Just... wow. Speaker 1: (Walking out of the theater) My eyes are red from crying. That was an experience. Speaker 2: It wasn't just a movie, it was like a concert and a documentary blended into one. [02:31 - 03:02] Speaker 2: Let’s talk about the acting. Jaafar Jackson didn’t just play Michael; he became Michael. Every tilt of the head, the soft-spoken voice, the way he moved his feet. Speaker 1: It didn't feel like an impersonation. It felt grounded. And the movie didn't shy away from the harder parts of his life, which I appreciated. It showed the pressure he was under from such a young age. Speaker 2: The relationship with Joe Jackson was tough to watch, but necessary. Michael is easily the best musical biopic since Bohemian Rhapsody, maybe even better. Kiki: The cinematography during the "Man in the Mirror" montage was breathtaking.
