Dave Mason, the legendary singer-songwriter and guitarist, has passed away at the age of 79. 00:15 - 00:37 Mason was a founding member of the band Traffic, and he also had a very successful solo career. He was known for his soulful voice and his incredible guitar playing. 00:37 - 00:55 Some of his most famous songs include "Feelin' Alright," "We Just Disagree," and "Only You Know and I Know." He also played on records for some of the biggest names in music, including The Rolling Stones, George Harrison, and Paul McCartney. 00:55 - 01:21 In the mid-90s, he even spent a brief period as a member of Fleetwood Mac. He was a true musical icon, and his influence can be heard in the work of countless artists. 01:21 - 01:45 Mason was born in Worcester, England, in 1946. He started playing guitar at a young age, and he quickly became a fixture in the local music scene. 01:45 - 02:08 In 1967, he teamed up with Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, and Chris Wood to form Traffic. The band's debut album, Mr. Fantasy, was a critical and commercial success, and it helped to establish Mason as a major talent. 02:08 - 02:35 Mason left Traffic in 1968 to pursue a solo career. His debut solo album, Alone Together, was released in 1970, and it featured the hit song "Only You Know and I Know." 02:35 - 03:02 Throughout the 70s and 80s, Mason continued to release successful albums and tour the world.
