Layers and layer masks are what distinguish Photoshop from Lightroom. Adjustment layers, described in detail in this tutorial, are special types of layers and masks. While Lightroom has an impressive suite of adjustments in its Develop module that work well for the majority of image adjustments, adjustment layers in Photoshop not only allow you to make 'non-destructive' changes to an image, they allow you to target specific parts of an image that are affected by that adjustment layer using masks. Confused by that description?! Let me clarify by example in this tutorial, at my usual slow pace. If you want to step back a bit and get an intro to Photoshop, my tutorial about navigating around Photoshop is at: https://youtu.be/4eNY8UVkXHA Also, my tutorial on Adobe Camera Raw is at: https://youtu.be/49l0QAk1_qE
