𦽠Why the Panthera Micro Works for Cillian Before this chair, Cillian used a Leckey Firefly Scoot. While it helped him learn the movement pattern of propulsion, it was heavier and required caregivers to partially unweight the device for him to move independently. With the Panthera Micro: βοΈ He propelled himself immediately βοΈ No caregiver assistance was needed βοΈ He gained true independent mobility inside the home Because Cillian tended to rock forward and round his trunk, we added: TLSO (thoraco-lumbo-sacral orthosis) for trunk support Chest support and seat belt Hip abduction positioning to address hip dysplasia Foot straps for stability and alignment This setup prioritizes safety, alignment, and independence β even if it slightly reduces speed. π‘ What Youβll See in This Video βοΈ Independent manual wheelchair propulsion at 20 months βοΈ Why ultra-lightweight wheelchairs matter for toddlers βοΈ TLSO use during wheelchair mobility βοΈ Hip dysplasia positioning in a pediatric wheelchair βοΈ Real-life navigation (including a serious door obsession π) βοΈ Family-centered decision-making for early mobility ππ½ Watch the full Cillian playlist here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAkJbMrHyKjOBUy-rQKVN5ACa37e72liK π Gratitude & Support Cillianβs family received this Panthera Micro through a donation from the Cure SMA Foundation, and they are thrilled with how it has changed his independence at home. β οΈ Important Note These videos are educational and are not a replacement for in-person pediatric physical therapy.
