Switchbot's new Lock Ultra takes 10 minutes to install, is a retrofit Smart lock that even renters can install over the top of their existing key that works with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple Homekit via Matter, BUT it also now works with Home Assistant LOCALLY using Bluetooth. It's still SUPER cool, but it's definitely not quicker than using your thumb, and I reckon it probably works 9 times out of 10, sometimes I have to stand dancing around in front of it. I suspect it struggles when there is direct sunlight behind me, I could do with retraining it and seeing if it improves. It's definitely a nice option to have for when your hands are full but it's not quite perfect. Would I still buy it?
