Bambulab A1 mini
The Bambu Lab A1 Mini is the cheapest printer in their stack, and I bought it specifically to see how much of the X1 Carbon experience carries over. For PLA, it’s honestly mind-blowing: fast, quiet, and the print quality I got was nearly flawless for the price.

Pros
- +Excellent PLA print quality with clean layers and minimal artifacts
- +Very quiet operation for a desktop printer
- +Automatic bed leveling and easy preset-driven workflow
- +Surprisingly solid steel/aluminum frame and nice aesthetics
- +Built-in camera for remote checking
Cons
- -No enclosure, so ABS didn’t work well
- -No first-layer inspection sensor like the X1 Carbon
- -Advanced filaments benefit from a filament dryer (humidity sensitivity)
- -Loading new filament felt a bit tedious (extrude doesn’t push enough by default)
