BEST DAMN APPLE CAKE IN THE WORLD - Jewish Apple Cake from America - CQA 483

This cake came from my mom - despite it being a "Jewish Apple Cake" and that I grew up in a Jewish neighborhood (if you flew over our area during Christmas, you could easily tell which house was ours), she didn't get it while we lived there. It came to her much later when we were starting to do coffee at Jay's Shave Ice back in 2002 and I was just starting to make my entry into coffee. My mom loves to bake and she wanted to try the recipe. It was a hit. People loved this cake. And since I had those apples from last week's episode, my mom wanted to use them to make a cake for the show. Funny enough, as I was reading up about apple cakes and the Jewish Apple Cake, it turns out that it did not come with the migration of Eastern European Jews, but rather springboarded either in Pennsylvania, or on Smith Island, Maryland. Whatever the case, I'm interested to know how all those different apple varieties play together in the cake!
