“[Music] hello everyone is only here and we're back again with another video today we're going to be doing a sound quality comparison between the onyx studio 4 and the Marshall Stockwell - thank you very much to all those that took part in the polls and voted for this video I keep watching till the end if you want to know the speaker I picked as my winner over on this side we have the Onyx studio for coming in with a thumpin deep bass crystal clear hive connects plus stereo pairing and an eight hour battery and over on the other side we have the Marshall Stockwell - with an impressive omnidirectional sound bloom line stereo construction bluetooth 5”

“0 and a 20 hour battery and one question remains just how good is the sound quality let's find out with all of that beats [Music] let the battle beaky [Music] Oh [Music] you [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay guys I hope the recording was able to help you make a decision and I'm sure most of you will agreed when it comes to fullness of sound there is a clear winner here but Before we jump to that let's talk about some very unique features found in the stock world - and how they compare and first off is design I think the design of the marshal really looks good a marshal has modeled the Stockwell - to look like a mini guitar amp the earnings for really looks good but I'll have to go with the vintage design of the stock world - and the next is sound quality now when it comes to sound quality the stock will - has an amazing sonic signature the mid-range clarity is awesome now it's much better than what you get in the Onyx studio 4 there seems to be some kind of effects processing going on in the stock world - it sounds to me like the stock well adds some kind of delay and reverb to the music to achieve what I would describe as an open sound now this effect is very subtle but very cleverly done you can just about hear the tail end of the effect it mostly targets the vocals and solo instruments in the high to mid-range area but there is a downside to this effect though sometimes it actually makes some songs to not sound as good or accurate and because there is no way of controlling this effect you're kind of stuck with it and if it badly affects your favorite song then there's nothing you can really do about it the effect is definitely a good step in my opinion but a control dial would have been really great for adjusting it to taste or to completely shut it off if you wish okay now the next point is the base now the base of the stock will - is okay but I must tell you it is no way near what you're getting on the Onix to do for the stock well - doesn't have a full bodied sound so if you love a good base then the stock will - is not going to please you the Onyx to do for will be a greater option for a thumping bass sound and the next point is sound projection when it comes to sound projection the stock will - is not claiming to be 360 speaker but it somehow manages to achieve a fairly even sound projection in all directions which is really great and very uncommon in this style of speaker design the Onyx studio for on the other hand is pretty much directional in sound projection although it has a good stereo soundstage the best listening position will always be in front of the speaker so that makes the stock will - one of the best options for omnidirectional sound as it maintains great sound quality at almost every angle now the next thing we're going to talk about is the volume and loudness now this is where the stock will - starts to really struggle the stock will - doesn't get loud enough as most speakers do at high volumes you kind of feel like you still want a bit more from the speaker but don't get me wrong though at max volume it does get reasonably loud but once you go over 80% volume you start to hear the internal limiters compressing the music and it doesn't sound good to my ears now most speakers will really get loud at about 80% volume but it's just not the case with the stock well - so just keep that in mind now the recordings in this video have been matched for loudness to make it easier to hear the differences but I'm going to play you another sample without the loudness match just to give you an impression of the differences in perceived loudness between these two speakers now both speakers will be playing at exactly 80 percent volume so let's hear the samples [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] okay guys I hope that was able to answer some of the questions you may have about the loudness now I'm sure some of you would like to know which portable speaker i would go for in this comparison and for me i'd have to go with the Onix studio four and here's why the first point is at under 200 pounds the Onix to do four will give better value when considering price to performance ratio my second reason is the oleg studio four in my opinion is a more practical speaker in terms of performance I can use it indoors at really low volumes and on clear weather days I can also take it outdoors to crank the volume for a small party so those are my reasons for choosing the onyx studio for as my all-round great portable speaker the stock will too on the other hand I'd like to keep it as my personal speaker for a small room or an office or maybe in an environment where I just need a really good background music I think the omnidirectional bloom line stereo effects will be amazing in that atmosphere ok guys that's it from me I would like to know which speaker you would pick and why please let me know in the comments below once again thank you so much to all those that voted for this video now if you want to watch the long version of this comparison where I cover multiple genres then a video will be coming up soon in the information button on your screen that's it guys don't forget to hit the like button subscribe to this channel so you always know whenever I find anything new and interesting and as always guys my name is Tony and this is Ho Chi Minh media and I'll see you in the next video [Music] the one [Music]”
