A man accused of killing his 82-year-old grandfather and 22-year-old brother and then shooting two East Cleveland police officers is being sentenced Wednesday afternoon. In August 2025, Aaron Sharp killed his two family members during a domestic argument. East Cleveland officers arrived on scene, and Sharp shot Officer Joshua Durda in the leg. Sharp fled the scene, and officers found him after a shotspotter alert came in about a block away, which is where Officer Brandon Hernandez was shot in the buttocks. Several hours later, Sharp was arrested. Sharp was indicted on several charges: two counts of aggravated murder, four counts of murder, two counts of attempted aggravated murder, eight counts of felonious assault and two counts of tampering with evidence. He was held on a $3 million bond, and in May, Sharp pleaded guilty to the charges.
