In this video I explained Internet of Things (IoT) as a smart revolution in connectivity—how everyday physical objects connect to the internet and become intelligent. I covered what “things” can be (home appliances, wearables, industrial machines, vehicles) and how IoT turns passive devices into responsive tools using embedded sensors, software, and network connectivity. Then I broke down how IoT works with four core parts: sensors/devices to collect data (temperature, movement, light), connectivity (Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, 4G/5G and other wireless protocols), data processing (cloud or edge), and a user interface (apps/dashboards) so we can monitor and take action. I also shared real-world IoT applications—smart homes, healthcare wearables, agriculture sensors, manufacturing/industrial IoT for predictive maintenance, transportation and logistics, and smart cities. Along with the benefits (efficiency/automation, cost savings, data-driven insights, and improved quality of life), I highlighted the challenges you must plan for: security and privacy risks, interoperability issues between vendors, and scalability when you manage millions of devices. Finally, I discussed the future direction: IoT growth with billions of devices, and deeper impact when combined with AI, 5G, and edge computing for digital transformation.
