In this vlog, I’m taking you through a real day in my life as a pharmacy student in Nigeria—from a not-so-smooth morning to a really exciting industry trip. I started my day getting ready for school, packing my bag (tripod, pen, book, and snacks because I get hungry fast), and having my favorite breakfast: cereal. The weather was looking like it wanted to rain, I was already running late, and to make it worse, the shuttle had issues, so my morning was honestly just one of those ones. After classes, we gathered at the faculty for a discussion that was organized for us, and then we hopped on a bus for a trip to a pharmaceutical industry. And yes—very important life lesson: if you enter a Nigerian bus and they don’t stop at a filling station to get fuel before the journey starts, just know you entered the wrong bus. When we finally arrived, we got welcomed into this really nice executive office (it was giving board of directors), listened to a presentation about the company’s background, and then did introductions (I was nervous but I still did a good job, period). The highlight for me was seeing the actual production area—so many things I’ve been taught in class, but practically. The hospitality was amazing, the food was nice (even though I almost lost it waiting for a spoon), and we ended the day taking pictures like the Gen Zs we are.
