About This Video

OpenAI just dropped GPT Image 2, and it’s honestly nuts. In this video I got my hands dirty and compared it head-to-head with Nano Banana 2 (the model I’ve been using for basically everything). I ran 30 side-by-side matchups using the exact same prompts, then had Claude Opus 4.7 act as the judge across categories like artistic styles, character consistency, complex scenes, diagrams, and UI. The big takeaway: GPT Image 2 wins more often, and the realism + text rendering is the main reason it’s pulling ahead. After the matchups, I pushed GPT Image 2 through a bunch of real-world use cases you can copy right now: pitch-ready product packaging with clean nutrition labels and barcodes, handwriting cleanup that matches the original pen strokes, website hero concepts, ad creative split tests, UGC-style selfie ads, localized creatives, book covers, LinkedIn carousel slides, brand mascots, logo style variants, real estate staging, and enterprise diagrams. I also break down pricing (I run these through key.ai), and I show a thumbnail workflow attempt that… failed pretty hard—but I still think with a proper workflow and better prompting, thumbnail automation is absolutely on the table.
