*This video is for ages 13 and older. Mr. Smith's, "Jackson Pollock Inspired Abstract Flower Painting", video is based on his love of creating flower art during his yearly outdoor plein air drawing experiences and his search for the making satisfying art. This work is the fourth in a series of summer flower creations. He starts out using the impasto painting technique to create a very thick and textured surface as he abstracts the floral forms. Later Mr. Smith decides to finish the painting by using drip and splatter techniques inspired by the artist, Jackson Pollock. As this series continues look forward to seeing Mr. Smith make his paintings bigger and to move his studio outside.
