Mr. Smith creates a colorful kid friendly drawing that is inspired by the artwork of 80's Pop Artist, Keith Haring and The children's book, Keith Haring The Boy that couldn't stop drawing. The book is written by Keith's sister Kay Haring. Artist Keith Haring was born on May 4, 1958, in Reading, Pennsylvania. He moved to New York City in 1978 and began using the city as his canvas, making chalk drawings in subway stations. His art was eventually seen everywhere from public murals and nightclubs to galleries and museums around the entire world. Mr.Smith wants young people to read and use literature as a launch pad to create images in their imaginations as well as reading to be informed. To make his drawing Mr. Smith uses various shapes, lines, colors, and simplifies the drawing into a step-by-step process. This makes it easy for young children to follow along with his videos. His one-stroke/two stroke coloring method enables any child to get the most color out of their markers. Mr. Smith's method for drawing helps any child to create a successful work of art of which they can be proud and anxious to share with friends and family.
