मेरे हिसाब से किचन के लिए सबसे best material BWP plywood है, जिसे boiling water proof बोलते हैं। ये पानी लगने से जल्दी खराब नहीं होती और minimum 15–20 साल आराम से चल जाती है। इसलिए most kitchens में cabinets के लिए यही use होता है।

मैं बिल्कुल recommend नहीं करूंगा कि आप kitchen में MDF या particle board इस्तेमाल करें। ये low budget में मिल जाते हैं, लेकिन durability और quality कम होती है और जल्दी खराब हो जाते हैं। पानी लगने से तो ये बिल्कुल खराब हो जाएंगे।

MR grade moisture resistant होता है, लेकिन kitchen के लिए perfect नहीं है—इसे आप living room या bedroom furniture में use कर सकते हो। BWR, MR से थोड़ी better quality होती है। Kitchen cabinets के लिए सबसे popular और safe option BWP plywood ही है।

Indian kitchens में mostly laminate use होता है क्योंकि ये budget-friendly है और colors/variations बहुत मिलते हैं। Acrylic premium finish है, लेकिन इसकी cost almost double हो जाती है। अगर laminate sheet 8x4 आपको करीब ₹1500 में मिल रही है, तो acrylic लगभग ₹2500–₹3000 तक जा सकती है।

सबसे पहले cabinets का total square feet निकालो और उसे ₹1100 (approx total rate) से multiply कर दो। Example के लिए, अगर length 8 ft और height 4 ft है तो total 32 sqft हुआ, और cost करीब ₹35,000 के आसपास आएगी। साथ में contractor से written quotation जरूर लो कि कौनसा material use होगा, ताकि MDF लगाकर plywood का charge न ले।
