Everyone told us making a pie from scratch was “too hard,” so we went into this Husband vs Wife pie bake-off already nervous. Neither of us had ever made a homemade pie, and we honestly expected at least one total disaster. I made a Dutch apple pie in sour cream custard & Colt made a peach pie, and we just figured it out as we went — crust, fillings, mistakes and all. And somehow… both pies turned out shockingly good. Like “did we actually do that?” good. Our family tasted both pies and picked the winner, and now this might become a new Thanksgiving tradition.
