From MTC to Marriage: Our Love Story

We never expected to meet our forever person at the MTC… but that’s exactly what happened. 💌 In this episode of No Textbook for Life, my husband Colt and I share the story of how we met as missionaries in Provo, Utah, in August 2017. I (Malia) showed up late on my first day, and the only seat left was right next to him. For 2 ½ weeks we studied, prayed, and prepared for our missions side by side—until I left for Nebraska and he left for Ohio. What followed was two years of handwritten letters and weekly emails. We even both had dreams about each other before we met, though we didn’t admit it until later. Fast forward: I returned home from my mission in March 2019, Colt came home in August, and I actually got to meet him at the airport with his family.
