I share my story and the 8 lessons and realizations that could’ve saved me years of pain, including believing people when they tell you who they are, recognizing abuse before it escalates, and understanding that you cannot change someone who refuses to change. I also break down what domestic violence can look like (physical, emotional, sexual, and economic abuse) and why so many of us don’t realize we’re in it until it’s “too late.” I talk about the mindset trap of feeling stuck, the power of telling someone the truth, and why forgiveness is a key that unlocks your ability to move forward. I also share why you need time to heal before jumping into something new (because vulnerability can attract the wrong person—yes, even a “spiritual narcissist”). Most importantly, I’m living proof that life really does get better, and that God can bring purpose out of pain.
