Thanks for watching my expert 2-minute tour about the Toroweap Overlook and Tuweap Campground in Grand Canyon National Park. We went here with our 4-month-old, which was a bold, but incredible adventure. In fact, people from the campground came over to meet us. We were afraid we would catch some shade for bringing out baby out here, but this sweet, older couple actually complimented us and said our daughter would have such an amazing life. It was really empowering. I want to empower YOU to get outside and enjoy the best-hidden secrets of Canyonlands National Park. My mission is to tell my story completely for free. This channel is completely funded by me. Here’s some additional info to help you plan your trip to Toroweap. Directions to Toroweap Via the Sunshine Route: From Fredonia head southwest out of town on Highway 389. Turn onto Mt Trumbull Road/County Road 115/NPS 115. Continue down this dirt road for just over 60 miles. The road is mostly washboard with some sharp limestone. The last 3 miles of the road are very rugged with deep ruts, rocks, and shelves. The road gets rough once you reach the NPS boundary. There is a gate where a ranger will check your permits and you will pay an entry fee. This gate is closed sunset to sunrise. ✨ Additional Resources ✨ Toroweap Day Use Permits: https://www.recreation.gov/timed-entry/10089462 Tuweap Campground Permits: https://www.recreation.gov/permits/4675337 *Note, the backcountry permit process is confusing. That weird, raised, bumpy soil you see is alive. It’s called cryptobiotic soil and it is an integral part of preventing erosion and allowing for plant life to thrive in the desert. It is fragile and stepping on it will ruin years of development. ✨Visit responsibly! There is Instagram and there is reality. And you should be inspired by BOTH. I intentionally use photos and videos that have been edited for color and lighting, and ones that haven’t. All the photos and videos you see of Toroweap were taken by me. I rarely edit other people out of photos (and I would make a note here if I did!). #grandcanyon #grandcanyonnationalpark #nationalpark #nationalparkgeek #arizona #stunning #campinglife #overlanding ✨Time stamps: 00:00 - Intro 00:34 - permit information 00:52 - Toroweap 4x4 access and difficulty 01:00 - what to bring for a trip with a baby 01:18 - road safety information 01:37 - Tuweep Campground 01:55 - tips for traveling to Toroweap with a baby 02:13 - Visiting the Toroweap Overlook 02:26 - photographing the Toroweap Overlook 02:40 - best time to visit 02:46 - outro 02:55 - outtakes
