We Turned Gold From My Mine Into Real Gold Coins! Season 3, Episode 20

In this video, I melt down gold recovered from my own mine, refine it, pour it into bars, and take it to Baltimore Knife and Sword (https://baltimoreknifeandsword.com/) to turn it into custom gold coins for the 2025 mining season. After the problems we had last year, this run went much better — cleaner gold, better rolling, cleaner strikes, and a final batch of 34 finished coins. Coins for sale here: https://mbmmllc.myshopify.com/ It all starts with gold I crushed and concentrated over the fall and winter, which gets melted together and refined further to remove as many remaining base metals as possible. Once the gold is cleaned up, I pour it into small bars and test whether it’s going to be malleable enough to work without cracking. That was one of the biggest issues last time, so getting cleaner, softer gold this year made a huge difference right from the start. After that, I load up the bars and head through a blizzard to meet up with Kerry at Baltimore Knife and Sword. In the shop, we hammer-test the bars, roll them down to thickness, anneal them, punch out coin blanks, and weigh everything carefully to make sure each round is right where we want it. We also laser-cut a fresh 2025 die for this year’s coins and start striking them one by one. Once the first batch is finished, we melt down the leftover skeletons and scrap, reroll that gold, and turn even more of it into additional coins. We also make a special larger gold round and run it on an antique rose engine for a really unique finish. By the end of the trip, we’ve turned raw gold from my mine into 34 custom coins that mark the 2025 mining season.
