I’m out here in the Agafay Desert of Morocco for some business meetings, but I couldn't keep my eyes off the rocks! Even on a camel ride, the geology here is shouting "Gold." From the shale bedrock to the massive quartz outcrops, this landscape is a textbook example of where you'd want to be prospecting. In this impromptu video, I break down the indicators that catch a geologist's eye: Host Rocks: Why shale and "low-grade" metamorphic rocks are prime real estate for gold veins. Quartz Stringers: Identifying weather-resistant quartz that carries minerals from the ancient seafloor. The "Natural Sluice Box": Why you want to find bedrock running perpendicular to the stream flow to find the best nugget traps.
