The SH-9 is basically the SP200 experience with better build and the big quality-of-life upgrade: a remote and screen for about $25 more. It’s a very analytical THX-style amp, and if you’re okay with the slightly smeared/compressed microdynamics I hear from THX amps, it’s one of my favorite sub-$500 THX picks.

+Strong power output and balanced inputs (RCA/XLR)
+Analytical, clean presentation; great value versus SP200

Cons

-Microdynamics can sound a bit smeared/compressed (typical THX tradeoff)
-No pre-outs mentioned; feature set is still fairly straightforward
